Congratulations to Adoree’ Jackson of the University of Southern California for being awarded the 2016 Jim Thorpe Award, given to college football’s top defensive back. Jackson is a 3-year starting cornerback and a 3-way performer, and is among the nation’s most exciting players.
Adoree’ lead USC in interceptions with 4 and pass breakups with 11, and made 51 tackles with a pair of fumble recoveries. He was often matched against the opponent’s top receiver. He is in the national Top 25 in passes defended and fumbles recovered.
Jackson is ranked third nationally in punt returns and sixth in kickoff returns. He has two TD returns in each category. And on offense this season, he averages 9.8 yards on 5 rushes. He is the true picture of what it means to be a two-way player, making him an ideal recipient of the Thorpe Award.
