Nancy Curry, Assistant Store Manager at BC Clark’s Penn Square location, and Thomas Ford, also of BC Clark Penn Square, became the third and fourth CGA titleholders in the BC Clark company, following Teresa Hedrick (BC Clark Penn Square) and Paul Minton (BC Clark Downtown).
Curry and Ford, who each had previously earned Certified Gemologist of the Society accreditation, were required to meet additional requirements to earn the coveted CGA title.
These requirements included a rigorous two-part exam consisting of theory questions and practical assignments based on performing a number of complete, accurate, and thoroughly detailed appraisals on a variety of jewelry items.
The CGA accreditation is the highest level of achievement in the jewelry industry. Only approximately 400 AGS jewelers in North America have earned this prestigious professional title.
In addition to employing multiple CGA titleholders, BC Clark Jewelers has an Accredited Gemological Laboratory on the premises. This laboratory is equipped with a binocular microscope, a set of five AGS master diamonds for color grading purposes, a gemological library of reference materials, and gem-testing equipment for identification of gemstones, their synthetic counterparts, imitations, and treatments.
We can’t say it enough. Our amazing BC Clark employees are the heart and soul of this company. We are honored to call them family.
Come down to our Penn Square location and let these two know how much your appreciate their hard work. And while you there, let them share their expertise with you as you pick out a beautiful new piece of jewelry from our collections.
